Our Girls Competitive Team Program competes under the structure set forth by USA Gymnastics.  We compete in the Level 5 through Elite Program.  We have won many state, regional, and national titles, competed gymnasts in the 1995 & 1997 World Championships and the 1996 Olympic Trials, and graduated numerous ladies that went to college on a full gymnastics scholarship.  We have also qualified ladies onto USA Teams that have traveled to over 15 countries to represent USA Gymnastics. Whether it's with a seven year old girl competing in her first season as a Level 5 or an eighteen year old young lady competing in a national championships trying to earn a college scholarship, our top notch staff works diligently day in and day out with all of our levels to create one of the best competitive programs in the country.  With our staff and our facility we are looking forward to continued success.

	Terry Walker Girls Competitive Program Director Terry Walker began his career in coaching in 1983 and has coached gymnasts at the national and international level since 1987.  A coach of two former Olympians, Terry coached with Cypress Academy from 1988 to 1995.  He returned to Cypress with his beautiful wife, Tamara, in May of 2003 and became the Competitive Girls Director in 2004.
	Marina Vernaya Team Instructor Marina Vernaya began her coaching career in 1987 and came to Cypress Academy in 2000.  She is a graduate of Moscow University with a B.S. degree in Physical Education.  Marina is a former nationally ranked rhythmic gymnast and was a member of the Soviet Union National Team Coaching Staff.
	Tamara Walker Team Instructor Tamara Walker began her coaching career in 1996.  Tamara was a competitive power tumbler through high school and went on to Midwestern State University, graduating with a B.S. in Kineisiology in 2001.  She joined Team Cypress in May of 2003.
Of our 70,000 square foot facility, over 10,000 sq. ft. is dedicated to girls gymnastics.  Every event, trampoline, and our 60' tumble trak have access to loose foam and resi-pits.
