Competitive Teams

Cypress Academy proudly works with some of the most talented athletes in the country and in the world. Both our boys and girls teams have seen athletes move on to full college scholarhships as well as the Olympics. We believe our competitive success comes from a great foundation early on in the sport of gymnastics. That is why we focus just as much attention to our recreational programs as we do to our competitive programs. After all, that is where our future stars are born.

Our professional competitive coaches have high expectations for each individual athlete. Whether a gymnast is competing in his or her first ever competition or preparing for Nationals, our coaches customize workouts to fit their needs.

Nova Program

Girls in-house competitive

The Nova Program is the next step after the girls recreational program. We begin with Novas, who are working Xcel Bronze level skills. Our next level is Supernovas, where our athlete’s skill set progresses to that of Xcel Silver. Finally, in our Comets level, routines are the equivalent of Xcel Gold.

Novas and Supernovas come two days per week for an hour and ten minutes. Comets practice two days per week for two hours and twenty minutes per day. The Nova Program competes at in house competitions only.

Annual Registration Fee: $40/yr
Novas- $185/mo or $180 on auto-draft
Super Novas- $185/mo or $180 on auto-draft
Comets- $265/mo or $260 on auto-draft

Boys CAG League

Boys in-house competitive

The Boys Developmental Team Program was created to continue challenging boys past our basic recreational levels. These boys will compete at in house competitions, and be challenged with a greater skill set.

Annual Registration: $40/yr.
Cost: $155/mo or $150 on auto-draft

Girls USAG Development Program Team

Our girls competitive team consists of some of the best athletes in the country. We’ve seen athletes off to college with full scholarships.

Our girls team staff consists of some of the best coaches in the industry; many of whom have been with Cypress Academy for more than a decade.

Boys USAG Development Program Team

Our boys competitive team consists of some of the best athletes in the country as well as the world. We’ve seen athletes off to college with full scholarships as well as to the Olympics.

Our Boys Head Coach, Tom Meadows, was the assistant coach to the 2012 Men’s Olympic Team. Our boys team staff consists of some of the best coaches in the industry.

XCEL Team

Girls, 8 years & up

The Xcel program is designed for recreational athletes who show passion for the sport, high school gymnasts who have a limited season, and current or former Junior Olympic team athletes that are considering a different level of commitment. Xcel brings competitive gymnastics to gymnasts in a program that embraces all skill levels – beginner through advanced. It is a personalized competitive program starting at the first entry division.

This program allows athletes to balance gymnastics with other activities, school, and family life, therefore a gymnast will not have to make that “all or nothing” decision between activities.

Annual Registration Fee: $40/yr
